DFW Airport Expects Nearly a Million Fourth of July Travelers

DFW Airport Expecting Record Crowd for Busy Fourth of July Travel Period

DFW AIRPORT, Texas, July 2, 2015 -- Dallas / Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) is preparing for big crowds expected during the five day fourth of July weekend. Nearly a million customers are expected to travel through DFW Airport between July 2nd and July 6th.

The busiest travel days are shaping up to be this Thursday, July 2nd and next Monday, July 6th with nearly 200,000 people expected to travel through DFW each day. To provide a helping hand for newcomers and veteran travelers alike, the airport is re-introducing its Holiday Helpers program this Thursday. DFW employees will be staffing each terminal throughout the day, and will be providing directions, free gifts and a few extra smiles to help bring cheer to the holiday weekend. Also on Thursday, are the DFW Sunny Service Days with an extra eye on customer care that could result in some special surprises for travelers tweeting DFW (@dfwairport) from the terminals.

DFW is also providing free porter service in every parking garage from 4-8 pm on Thursday and again on Friday, July 3rd from 8 am until noon.

In all, DFW Airport is preparing to host 934,000 travelers July 4th weekend, which represents a 2.3 percent increase compared to the same travel period last year.
