DFW Airport Media Statement on American Airlines Decision to Launch Boeing 787 Dreamliner Service from DFW in May
American Airlines has announced it will launch the first ever scheduled Boeing 787 Dreamliner service from Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) International Airport in early May, when it commences 787 service between DFW Chicago O’Hare International Airport. American also announced it will launch international 787 service from DFW to Beijing and Buenos Aires starting in June.
Reacting to the news, DFW Airport CEO Sean Donohue offered the following comment:
“The 787 is a revolutionary aircraft, fuel efficient and environmentally friendly. With today's announcement, DFW will host the first three routes being flown by American with the 787, serving key U.S. and international markets and offering DFW customers an outstanding travel experience."
The Boeing 787 Dreamliner features improved aerodynamics, advanced engine technology, better fuel efficiency and a state-of-the-art onboard travel experience.
American’s 787 service to Chicago will begin on May 7, while the service to Beijing starts on June 2 and 787 flights to Buenos Aires begin on June 4.
American Airlines took delivery of its first 787 from Boeing when the Dreamliner landed at DFW on January 23rd of this year.
