DFW Airport Statement From Kevin Cox, Senior Executive Vice President

DFW INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, Texas (November 13, 2002)

"We believe that Congress is making a decision that is prudent for the TSA, the airport and airline industries, and most importantly, the traveling public. Airports will continue to work closely with the TSA to implement checked bag screening and to ensure that it is done right, with the best security and customer service anywhere. This is a national aviation issue that Congress addressed cautiously and acted upon in a timely matter. We are all on the same team here, and real security is the top priority for all of us. We also commend the strong leadership of the North Texas delegation for their willingness to address this issue, recognizing the need to provide the highest level of security while assuring the job is done right the first time."

Located halfway between the cities of Dallas and Fort Worth, Texas, DFW International Airport is the world's third busiest, offering nearly 2,000 flights per day and serving 55 million passengers a year. DFW International Airport provides non-stop service to 130 domestic and 31 international destinations worldwide.
