DFW Airport Turns Express Parking Into A "Love Lot" On Valentine's Day

Guests Invited To Share Their Most Romantic, Funny Wedding Travel Stories On dfwairport.Com To Win Travel, Tickets, Roses

DFW INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, Texas (February 6, 2003) – If you've ever left DFW Airport on your honeymoon and your trip was the most romantic ever or had you laughing so hard you couldn't carry your spouse or your luggage over the threshold, we want to hear from you.

Beginning today, DFW is soliciting your best travel nuptial stories at www.dfwairport.com, and fellow travelers will vote online for the most romantic and hilarious stories. Then, on Valentine's Day, the Airport will team with radio personality Tara and 99.5 The Wolf and award two prize packages in DFW's new Express North Parking Lot. Voting will conclude Wednesday, February 12 at 5:00 p.m.

"After we launched Express Parking with Elvis impersonators last November, our passengers told us they never thought they could have that much fun in an airport parking lot," says Joe Lopano, executive vice president of marketing at DFW. "We know DFW is a starting place or connecting point for the married lives of many of our guests, and we thought it would fun to hear their travel tales and send two couples on another trip and a few dates on us."

Contestants will be asked to keep their stories to a maximum of 200 words, and voting for the most romantic and funniest stories will be continuous. The prize packages will consist of round trip airfare for two from DFW on Delta Air Lines to Denver and three nights lodging for two at the fabulous Keystone resort, complete with transportation from Denver International to the slopes and three day lift tickets.

When you return and need a break close to home, enjoy a weekend getaway at the Hyatt Regency DFW Hotel. The Wolf will also be providing the winner of each story one-dozen roses, a pair of tickets to the Dallas Stars and Dallas Desperados, and two pairs of tickets to the station’s Mardi Gras Texas Style Concert on February 22 at Fair Park which features headliners Jerry Jeff Walker and Cross Canadian Ragweed.

Winners will be contacted Thursday, February 13, and invited to appear live on 99.5 The Wolf's morning show at DFW’s Express North Parking, accept their prize and read and discuss their story.

"All we ask is you keep it clean, other than that, our fellow travelers will choose the winners," says Lopano.

Since opening in November 2002, DFW's new Express Parking service has been extremely well received. The Airport has been proactively using new business models in the 17 months after September 11 to enhance customer service, reduce hassle factors and improve DFW's bottom line, all without raising parking prices.

At Express Parking, guests are picked up at their car, and provided luggage assistance. An Express shuttle van picks up guests and takes them directly to their gate. Complimentary newspapers and bottled water are also provided. Mystery Shoppers and Airport feedback show that nearly 90 percent of customers who tried Express Parking say they will return.

Located halfway between the cities of Dallas and Fort Worth, Texas, DFW International Airport is the world's third busiest, offering nearly 2,000 flights per day and serving 55 million passengers a year. DFW International Airport provides nonstop service to 132 domestic and 31 international destinations worldwide.
