DFW Airport Welcomes Cayman Airways Service to the Grand Cayman Islands
New carrier launches weekly flight service to Caribbean paradise
Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport welcomed the inaugural Cayman Airways flight from Grand Cayman to Dallas/Fort Worth on Saturday. The inaugural Cayman Airways departure flight on Sunday, June 24 was seen off by a traditional “shower of affection” water cannon salute and a gathering of community leaders. Cayman Airways will offer weekly non-stop service from DFW to Grand Cayman.
“We are proud to welcome Cayman Airways and provide DFW passengers with more choices on travel,” said Jeffrey P. Fegan, CEO of DFW International Airport. “Grand Cayman has been recognized as one of the top travel destinations in the Caribbean, and a very attractive option for our passengers.”
“We have a strong visitation from Texas, and hope that this flight route will make the Cayman Islands even more compelling to visitors from the region," said Shomari Scott, Cayman Director of Tourism.
Cayman Airways will operate weekly service from Dallas/Fort Worth to Grand Cayman on Sunday mornings and from Grand Cayman to Dallas/Fort Worth on Saturday evenings, with the flights operating out of Terminal D.
The arrival of Cayman Airways at DFW continues the Airport’s momentum of adding new air service. DFW has added six new carriers, 12 new international destinations and 32 new city pairs over the past 18 months.
Cayman Airways will become the 21st passenger airline to serve DFW.
