DFW International Airport Personnel Reach Executive Status In AAAE
Kelly and Bee Recognized For Meeting Requirements of Accreditation
DFW INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, Texas (April 24, 2002) – Two employees of DFW Airport have successfully completed accreditation by the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE), the largest professional organization for airport executives in the world. Jim Kelly and Richard Bee received Accredited Airport Executive (A.A.E.) status and are now active members of the American Association of Airport Executives.
AAAE formally adopted a professional standards accreditation program in 1954 for affiliate members of AAAE. Accredited Airport Executive (A.A.E.) status is awarded when meeting the requirements established by the Board of Directors. An admission to executive status is by examination only.
The professional membership requirements consist of an original management paper on some phase of airport management, a comprehensive written test and an oral examination on a level comparable to other professional certifications.
Jim Kelly has been a Terminal Coordinator for the past two years at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport. He has held positions of increasing responsibility at DFW including Guest Services Program Manager and Assistant Terminal Manager. Prior to joining DFW, Jim held management positions at Delta, American, and Northwest Airlines in Washington, D.C., Memphis, Minneapolis, Honolulu, and Dallas-Fort Worth
Jim received an Associate of Science degree in Logistics Management from Georgia Military College, a Bachelor of Science degree in Professional Aeronautics and Master of Business Administration in Aviation from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University
Jim is also an Adjunct Faculty member, teaching Airport and Airline Management courses for the ERAU extended campus. He is currently working on the Aviation Career Education (ACE) program camp for the DFW area to promote aviation to minority and women.
Richard Bee has worked for Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport for sixteen years in positions of increasing responsibility and currently works as a Senior Project Manager for the Airport Development Department.
Richard is the Program Manager overseeing modifications of building systems to accommodate the Transportation Security Administration’s installation of explosive detection screening equipment. Richard also supports Airport Real Estate with development of commercial properties.
Richard has over 30 years of construction management experience. He received a degree in Program Management from the University of Texas at Arlington.
