DFW International Airport Welcomes CLEAR Biometric Screening Services To Terminal E
CLEAR becomes the third advance-screening platform available to DFW passengers
Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport welcomed the start of service by CLEAR, a biometric secure identification program, at DFW’s Terminal E. CLEAR's biometric technology combined with members-only lanes allows travelers to speed through security, averaging five minutes or less. Travelers simply confirm their identity with the touch of a finger. At DFW, the CLEARlane is located at Terminal E, Checkpoint E8.
"DFW Airport is focused on customer satisfaction, so we are always looking for new ways to improve the customer experience. The use of biometric technology is a great step forward," said Jeff Fegan, CEO for DFW International Airport. "Adding the capability to speed up the security screening process is a frequent request we get from our customers. Implementing CLEAR at DFW is one way to speed up the process while continuing to ensure safety and security."
"We are thrilled to bring CLEAR's biometric platform to Dallas and Fort Worth. DFW is a valuable addition to CLEAR's growing network of airport partners bringing much needed speed and predictability to the travel experience. The addition of CLEAR demonstrates DFW's commitment to enhancing security and the airport experience, solidifying DFW's position as an industry innovator," said CLEAR CEO Caryn Seidman-Becker.
CLEAR's national network uses biometrics to quickly speed all passengers through security for any airline, regardless of status. DFW becomes the fourth domestic airport to use CLEAR, following San Francisco, Denver and Orlando. For more information about CLEAR, visitwww.clearme.com.
The addition of CLEAR marks the third advance-screening or trusted traveler program available at DFW, joining “Global Entry” which is offered by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), and “TSA PreCheck” offered by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA).
“Global Entry” is a program that allows expedited clearance for pre-approved, low-risk travelers upon arrival in the United States. Though intended for frequent international travelers, there is no minimum number of trips necessary to qualify for the program. Participants may enter the United States by swiping their passport at automated kiosks located at select airports, including DFW, thereby speeding up the Customs process of re-entry into the U.S.
While “Global Entry” is aimed at international arrivals, “TSA PreCheck” is designed to speed up security screening at domestic airport checkpoints.
“TSA PreCheck” is a passenger pre-screening initiative that allows qualified passengers to go through an expedited security process, which among other benefits, allows them to keep their shoes and light outerwear on while going through the checkpoint. At DFW, select American Airlines frequent flyers are now eligible to participate and may receive expedited screening benefits when traveling domestically. The TSA began its “TSA PreCheck” operations at DFW at Checkpoints A-35 last fall, and recently expanded to Checkpoint D-30.
