DFW International Airport Welcomes Inaugural JetBlue Service to Boston

Renowned domestic carrier arrives with three daily flights

Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) International Airport today welcomed the start of passenger flights aboard JetBlue, with the inaugural flight from Boston to DFW. The inaugural arrived to a “shower of affection” water cannon salute from DFW Department of Public Safety fire trucks and a Boston-themed celebration inside Terminal E. JetBlue is starting at DFW with three flights at day to Logan International Airport, serving the route with Embraer E190 aircraft that seat about 100 passengers.

“We are honored and pleased to celebrate the arrival of JetBlue at DFW,” said Jeff Fegan, CEO of DFW International Airport. “JetBlue offers passengers outstanding service and great fares, and we’re confident JetBlue will present a compelling choice for our customers.”

JetBlue’s arrival continues a long string of successes in attracting new air service for DFW Airport, which is the Airport’s core mission. JetBlue becomes the fifth new airline to launch service at DFW within the past 17 months. DFW has also launched 12 new international destinations since the start of 2011.

“Today is a special day for JetBlue as we launch new service to this very important and popular destination for both business and leisure travelers,” said Dennis Corrigan, JetBlue’s Vice President of Sales and Revenue Management. “We look forward to connecting our Boston customers with their loved ones and to this major center of commerce and to introducing the people of Dallas/Fort Worth to our iconic brand including free first checked bag, comfy leather seats with room to stretch out, unlimited free snacks and excellence in customer service.”

“New air service growth is a major economic driver for North Texas and we’re very pleased to welcome JetBlue with its high level of service to the Dallas/Fort Worth region,” said Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings. “The citizens of Dallas will benefit from having JetBlue serve DFW Airport, not just in terms of flights but in terms of jobs and new spending in our city and our region.”

“JetBlue’s arrival at DFW is a testament to the strong economy in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, and our great airport is a key to that strength” said Fort Worth Mayor Betsy Price. “We have a lot to offer in Fort Worth, and we’re confident that this important commitment by JetBlue will greatly enhance business and leisure opportunities for those who live, work and travel to our city and our region."

JetBlue is based in New York City and is the largest carrier serving Boston. The airline’s convenient service between Boston and Dallas/Fort Worth offers optimal schedules for business and leisure travel. Customers flying into Boston can also connect easily to points across JetBlue’s network in the Northeast. JetBlue will operate its flights from DFW’s Terminal E.
