DFW International Airport Welcomes New Spirit Airlines Service to Tampa, Denver and Myrtle Beach

Expanding low-cost carrier now serves 11 destinations from DFW, with more on the horizon

Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) International Airport welcomes the start of new service from Spirit Airlines to the cities of Tampa, Denver and Myrtle Beach, which began yesterday. Spirit is now offering daily service between Denver and Dallas/Fort Worth with a second daily flight starting on May 17. Spirit has also added four non-stops per week between Dallas/Fort Worth and Tampa, as well as seasonal nonstop service with three flights per week between Dallas/Fort Worth and Myrtle Beach.
With the newly added flights, Spirit Airlines now serves 11 destinations from DFW Airport, including its home base of Fort Lauderdale, along with Las Vegas, Atlanta, Chicago/O’Hare, New York/LaGuardia, Boston, Phoenix/Mesa and Orlando.
“Spirit’s expansion this year at DFW has been simply remarkable, and we are glad to see them continue that momentum by adding flights to Denver, Tampa and Myrtle Beach,” said Jeff Fegan, CEO of Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport. “Spirit has shown a tremendous commitment to serve the Dallas/Fort Worth community, and our passengers are enjoying great new flight options as a result.”
“Our cheap fares and optional services have saved customers millions because they give consumers the freedom to choose only the extras they value and they only pay for what they use,” said Spirit’s Chief Marketing Officer Barry Biffle.
In June, Spirit plans to add flights from DFW to four more destinations, including Detroit, San Diego, Portland, and Toluca/Mexico City, bringing the total number of destinations served from DFW to 15.
Spirit operates its DFW flights from the Airport’s Terminal E.
