DFW International Airport Welcomes Spirit Airlines Service to Fort Lauderdale and Las Vegas
New low-cost carrier service brings more competition to North Texas travelers
(DFW AIRPORT, TX – Oct. 28, 2010) – DFW International Airport announced today that Spirit Airlines will begin twice daily non-stop service from Dallas/Fort Worth to Fort Lauderdale and twice daily nonstop service to Las Vegas. The low-cost carrier will begin flying at DFW on May 5, 2011.
With the addition of Spirit Airlines, Dallas/Fort Worth area travelers will be able to connect to more than 25 cities in the Caribbean, Latin America and the U.S. via Spirit’s Fort Lauderdale gateway.

Spirit becomes the sixth low-cost carrier at DFW once it starts service, joining AirTran, Frontier, Sun Country, US Airways, and Virgin America.

Spirit’s new flights will create approximately $120 million in annual economic impact to the North Texas region.
