DFW Airport’s Department of Public Safety police have arrested a female motorist who held police at bay for over an hour after they attempted to perform a traffic stop on Airport grounds.
The woman initially led police on a low speed chase to a remote area on the Airport’s east side about 10:00 AM this morning, near the FAA tower on East Airfield Drive. At that point, she refused to exit her vehicle for over an hour while police attempted to communicate with her.
After the initial stop, the woman drove away and was stopped again at a location in the 2600 block of South Airfield Drive where she was arrested.
The investigation into the case is ongoing.
The FAA briefly stopped using runways in the vicinity, but normal flight operations quickly resumed and flights were not affected.
